Mutiny

A classic Jason Statham movie

5.2.2

The container ship environment works to the film's advantage, forcing clean, readable cinematography and tight choreography rather than relying on messy CGI explosions. The script doesn't offer any s…

Insidious: Out of the Further

Expected more....

5.2.2

I got my hands on a ripped file which is only a Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 audio track however, I did set the AVR in a Dolby+ DTS Neural upmix and it did added some height channel activity and some more…

Tenet

Great, great movie...

5.2.2

**Tenet’s muffled dialogue is one of the most criticized aspects of this film. ** While the film is visually stunning, you struggle to understand the heavy exposition due to a controversial sound mix…

The Brutal Opening Scene: Within the first 30 seconds—as the eye opens and the plane flies over the solar farms, hits the system with a massive wall of low-frequency effects (LFE) dropping well below…

Feels like a live concert

The audio team took the studio-recorded tracks and re-played them through massive speakers inside real football stadiums and open arenas. They then re-recorded that sound with multi-mic setups to cap…

Demo-worthy home theater experience

The mix makes heavy use of height and surround channels. Audio objects rotate and revolve dynamically around the soundstage, especially during action sequences like the motorcycle chase and the pursu…

Timisoara Shoppin City Imax enchanted

Definitely one of the best films of this year if not the past 3-5 years in my opinion. This is definitely a new starting era of the way movies will be made. Absolutely cannot wait to test it out in m…

All Quiet on the Western Front

Welcome to HDIS, Patrick! 👋 Thanks for sharing your living-room theater—it’s great to have you here!

You were on the right track with the build project you created earlier. You can link this home theater profile to a build project and use it to document your progress, photos, and upgrades over time. The profile shows your setup, while the build tells the story of how it comes together.

I’d love to follow your home theater journey in the Builds section. Looking forward to seeing what you do next! 🍿🔊

Last year I moved into my first apartment and had a single plan in my head to make myself a nice 5.1 setup. After about 3 months I sold my old AVR and went out to purchase a Denon x4200w which supports Dolby Atmos. Today, I am finishing up my DIY 5.2.2 setup using a 65 inch Mini Led TCL and the following speakers: LR 15inch with a 1 inch driver horn Center is a dual 8 inch with a super bullet tweeter Surrounds are 8 inch paired with the same driver horn as the fronts My height speakers I am using the Magnat System Professional, a 5 inch speaker with tweeter. For the subs, I have a 10 inch Teufel T 10 and a smaller JBL 140/230 Sound proof also made myself using rockwool acoustic 120x60x10 cm thickness.
