a bit misleading
The movie is spectacular from an audio persepective. The surround sound and effects are rivalled by no movie, during the initial shootout in the mountains. The supressors and AK's sounded like pure bliss, even at -10 from reference. Occasionally i will listen to that scene at reference; and the impact of the gunshots is out of this world. If you do have transducers, there is a scene stands out as bookmark for any demo you can show your friends and family. The intial frogman speech to the drop, has the hardest hitting 7hz frequency bass, and it extends for long enough for you to realize that if you don't have Crowsons, or a sub that can play that low; you will begin chasing that rabbit, and for that I am sorry. THe bass score I gave, doesn't match the movie's gripping hold it has on you. There judy isn't enough of it to match the giants of the some of the other bass heavy films.
Lone Survivor sounds intense in DTS:X
I watched Lone Survivor in DTS:X, and the battle scenes sound intense. Gunshots and bullets move all around the room, making you feel right in the middle of everything. Explosions and helicopters bring some strong bass, while the quieter outdoor scenes still sound clear. This is a great movie to test your DTS:X setup.
