Undertone (2026) – Dolby Atmos Horror Done Right!
Just finished watching Undertone in Dolby Atmos, and I have to say, the sound design is really impressive!
This is not your typical horror movie where loud explosions or jump scares do all the work. What impressed me the most was how the movie uses silence and tiny background sounds to build tension.
The whispers, footsteps, creepy voices, and subtle noises coming from different directions make you constantly pay attention to your surroundings. At times, even the silence feels uncomfortable because you’re expecting something to happen.
The surround activity and Dolby Atmos effects are excellent, especially toward the climax. The dynamic range is another highlight, going from extremely quiet moments to sudden, intense sound effects.
The bass isn’t constantly shaking the room, but when the low frequencies kick in, they add another level of tension.
For me, the biggest winner is the sound design. It shows that you don’t need nonstop bass or explosions to create an immersive home theater experience.
If you have a good Dolby Atmos home theater setup, this is definitely worth watching for the audio experience alone. Highly recommended!
