Twisters (2024) Dolby Atmos Review — Deep Bass and Strong Overhead Effects
Twisters gives the home theater system a good workout. The bass is deep, and you can hear the low rumble building as the tornadoes approach. It keeps going through the storm scenes, giving the action plenty of weight.
The Dolby Atmos height effects are a highlight for me. Wind and debris fill the space above you, while the surround speakers keep the storm all around the room. There is a lot happening, and it makes the tornadoes feel close.
The rodeo sequence is a good scene to replay. The storm, crowd and destruction keep the surround speakers busy. The final tornado sequence is another highlight, with strong bass and overhead activity happening together.
Dialogue stays clear through most of the action. The quieter scenes also give your ears a break, which makes the next storm feel more intense. That difference in volume gives the mix good dynamic range.
This is a Dolby Atmos track I would use for a demo. The tornado scenes make good use of the subwoofer, surrounds and height speakers, with plenty to enjoy across the whole system.
