Overview

Top Gun: Maverick sounds fantastic. The opening aircraft carrier scene already gives you a good idea of what to expect, but the Darkstar scene is where the bass really kicks in. You can feel the engine getting more powerful without the sound becoming messy. The flying scenes are easily the best part. The jets move around the room and overhead, especially during the training runs and final mission. Radio dialogue stays clear even when the engines and music get loud. The quieter scenes sound pretty normal, and sometimes the music is louder than I would like. But once the jets are in the air, the whole room comes alive. This is one of the best movies I have heard in Atmos. Great bass, excellent surround sound, and plenty of overhead activity. I would definitely use this movie to show off my setup.
