The Mummy (2017) Dolby Atmos Review — Powerful Bass and a Great Plane Crash Scene

The Mummy sounds really good in Dolby Atmos. The plane crash is the standout scene for me. There is a lot happening around the room, with the wind, aircraft noise and impacts making the whole scene feel intense. The bass has plenty of weight, and the surround speakers stay busy as everything starts falling apart.

The sandstorm in London is another good scene for the Atmos height speakers. You can hear the effects moving around and above you. It gives the storm a much bigger feel, with sound filling the room.

Dialogue stays clear even during the louder action scenes. That helps when there is so much going on with the music, bass and surround effects. The dynamic range is also good, with a noticeable jump from the quieter scenes to the big action moments.

For home theater audio, there is plenty to enjoy here. The plane crash would be my first choice for a Dolby Atmos demo, followed by the sandstorm. Both give the subwoofer and surround speakers a good workout.
