Really fun movie with a lot going on. The action, racing scenes, and pop-culture moments make it an easy watch.
The sound is where it really shines on a home theater. The race scene has great bass and surround effects, and the action keeps the speakers busy with plenty of detail.
It's like being Daredevil IRL
Listen you guys remember how they depicted Daredevil viewing things thru sound in thr Ben Affleck movie? Watching this with a surround sound setup almost feels like that. You would be completely forgiven if you didn't instinctively begin to turn your head towards certain sounds at times. I know every person on earth has stared the opening race scene is demo material and I'm not going to be any different here. But I will add the final big climactic battle with all the WB IPs clashing is another great demo scene. Not as good as the race scene I don't think but if you already have the movie loaded up to show that scene it wouldn't hurt to jump to that one too since the movie is already on. Dialog was clear and I didn't have to funk around with the settings for it too much despite my insanely lackluster center channel.
This movie really uses your Atmos speakers
Ready Player One is a great Dolby Atmos demo. During the opening race, sounds are moving around the room and above you nonstop. King Kong and the wrecking ball really show off the height speakers. The final battle sounds huge too. This is one of the best movies to test an Atmos setup.
