Knives Out

Knives Out has a quieter Dolby Atmos mix that suits the movie well. Dialogue clarity is the main highlight for me. The conversations are easy to follow, which matters in a movie where you’re paying attention to what everyone says.

The surround sound is subtle. Small background sounds around the house give the rooms a bit more space without distracting from the conversations. The music adds to the suspense and sits well alongside the dialogue.

There isn’t much overhead activity, so don’t expect the Atmos height speakers to stay busy. Bass is also fairly restrained. Both feel appropriate for this kind of movie.

For me, this is a good home theater audio experience because it keeps the voices clear and supports the story. I wouldn’t pick it to show off the subwoofer or overhead effects, but the quieter sound design works well here.
