13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi

An intense, action-packed war film with powerful gunfight sequences and excellent surround sound that delivers an immersive home theater experience

13 Hours sounds very good in Dolby Atmos. The gunfire is the highlight for me. During the rooftop firefights, shots come from different directions, and you can hear the distance between nearby weapons and incoming fire. The surround speakers do a lot of work in these scenes.

The mortar attack stands out for the overhead effects and bass impact. The incoming rounds and heavy explosions make this one of the most intense parts of the mix.

Dialogue stays clear through most of the action, even with the gunfire and music going on. The quieter moments between attacks help build tension. When the shooting starts again, that change in volume really gets your attention. The dynamic range is very good.

For me, the sound placement is what makes this mix work so well. You can follow the action around the room without everything blending together. The rooftop firefights and mortar attack are the scenes I would replay to hear what a Dolby Atmos home theater system can do.
